You are welcome to discover old city Istanbul with our Old City Private Walking Tour. The msot popular destinations are located in old city area of ıstanbul where you can walk by. This tour basically covers Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Istanbul Archeological Museum, and Grand Bazaar. Hagia Sophia is closed on Mondays and  Topkapi Palace is closed on Tueasdays. So, we just replace those destinations with Basilica Cistern. Also, Grand Bazaar is closed on Sundays and will be replaced with Spice Markey on Sundays. The museum fees are not included in this tour but a nice lunch at Caferağa Medresah is included.

Istanbul Old City Private Tour (Walking Tour)

Our meeting point is German Fountain located in Sultanahmet Square in front of Blue Mosque. Let’s meet at 10:00 am in the morning and start touring old city. Let’s first walk by Obelisk of Theodosius which is also located in Sultanahmet Square. It’s the monoument of the Hippodrome of Constantinople in the 4th century A.D. Then, move to impressive Blue Mosque with 6 minarets. This historical mosque built in 1616 has a unique architecture of Ottoman. Opposite the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia welcomes us next. Built as Greek Orthodox Christian cathedral in A.D. 535 and later converted into a mosque after conquering Istanbul in 1453. Then, let’s visit Topkapi Palace which served a administration building and residence for Ottaman Sultans beginning from 1459. This museum is considered as the biggest in Istanbul. Then, it’s time to have luch and rest for a while. Let’s move to Caferağa Medresah close to Topkapi Palace and have luch there. See local art practices in traditional medresah during your lunch. Afterwards, if you are interested in archeology let’s visit Istanbul Archeological Museums to explore ancient ruins from all around Anatolia. Now, it’s time to shop in Grand Bazaar. Let’s walk to Grand Bazaar and see historical market. Go around bazaar and shop there. If you still have energy to walk we can walk to Beyazıt Quare, Istanbul University, and Süleymaniye Mosque.
